✔ Does it offer a good range of colors? Ever since Rihanna released 50 shades of foundation, many expect all foundations released to be inclusive and have all these shades. When Beauty Blender initially launched 32 shades, they got a lot of flak from the beauty community as number was just simply a number but they were underwhelmed with their shade range as it did not actually offer a balanced range. I think it is a good range, I also want to help you understand that manufacturing a wide range of colors at a large scale is not easy even for a large company that is hopping on a new trend. Once it has become established as a norm, it would be easier, since it is a relatively new thing, there will definitely be screw ups as they are also helping pave the way, expanding the services of manufacturers.
✔ For all skin tones? Now that it is updated to 40, I think it has improved, if you look at the table created, they have a color for every range of undertones (Cool, Neutral Warm) as well as shades (Light, Medium, Medium+ and Deep)
╸Is it something new compared to pre-existing brands? It is not new. Beauty Blender is entering the complexion is a large category of beauty which is a difficult category to enter. There are so many factors to consider such as finish, coverage, range, skin type, formulation and coverage.
✔ Is it different in formula? According to Beauty Blender Developed with an exclusive, high-speed HyperWhip™ process, this silky smooth formula is whisked into a light-as-air texture for unparalleled blendability. The formula definitely feels good, so I will buy into their marketing ploy and new “technology.”
= Is it different in terms of colors? Large color range is something that is relatively “new” so it not different but they are carving a path so that it becomes seen regularly
✔ Is it different in packaging design? Packaging design is different. Considering how much more expensive it is to create a new mold.
✔ Unique Branding? A distinguishable branding style
= Packaging Design: I dislike the minor gap near the pump as the foundation will go in and it’s difficult to clean. I think the design is different and interesting.
= Is the packaging sustainable? The packaging consists of a box. The foundation encasing is a mix of glass and plastic which I am okay with since you can use it for months.
= Where is it made and do they have a large carbon foot-print for manufacturing the product? All manufacturing and sourcing is made in the US. The carbon foot-print is minimal since it does not require large shipments from different spaces.
